St. John’s Library News Shelf – Fall Programming

Mind Your Matter – It’s never too soon, or too late to make changes that will help you to improve or maintain your brain health! Learn about wellness approaches to brain health that may reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.  Monday, Sept. 22 @ 6:30 pm.

 Get The Facts – Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia – Currently, more than 20,000 Manitobans have Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. This number is growing at an alarming rate. Learn the 10 warning signs and risk factors. And also learn ways to support people with Alzheimer’s and their families.  Saturday, Oct. 18 @ 11:00 am.

 Wills & Estates – Whatever your age or life circumstance, it’s a good idea to be prepared for possible situations when you might need someone to handle your personal, health and financial decisions. Writing a Will, a Power of Attorney, and a Health Care Directive prepares you for these difficult decisions. Our presenter will help explain what these documents are, and what they achieve; how they are made; what goes in them; and the kinds of things that need to be considered. This free 90 minute session will offer all the basics of wills and estate planning.  Monday, September 29 @ 6:30 pm.
